Sterling Silver “Pineys”

These one of a kind pieces of locally made jewelry are bringing together nature and fashion. We take little tiny pinecones from Green Alder trees and use them to cast our signature “Pineys” which are sterling silver pinecone bunches.

They come in single, double, or triple pinecone clusters and are made with sterling silver. They come on a single chain to be worn as a necklace. The chain is also made of sterling silver to match the piney pendants. We carry two sizes of sterling silver chains, an 18″ length or a 20″ length.

We also make earrings out of the single and double sets of these sterling silver pinecones. We’ve found that doing any more than 3 pineys on the earrings causes them to become too heavy to wear.

How Are They Made?

We start by gathering the pine cones to use for making the Pineys. They come from Green Alder trees and are really quite beautiful themselves. Once we have the pinecone clusters, we cut them up into the varying grouping sizes that we want. Whether one, two, or three pine cones on each bunch.

Then we take the pine cone bunches and use them to make a mold for casting the pendants. Once the mold is made, we carefully fill it with sterling silver. The pendants will look a bit rough when they come out of the mold so, from there we take and polish them up until they are shiny and beautiful.
